We all could use a pair of temple Guardians these days, and the two beasts Komainu, Meiji Era Japan perform their job admirably. Pictured here, they are sizable (23″h x 20″w) and handsomely charming yet fierce for their age (1868-1912) From an old Saga collection, likely having guarded a shinto or buddhist temple shrine entrance, waiting now to find a new home!
