Japanese temple find from the Taisho period, early 20th century.
An attractive pair of finely detailed lacquered and hand-painted offering stands used in a Buddhist temple alter.
Each hexagonal two part stand is superbly crafted and hand detailed in brilliant gold gilt, blue, pink and white colors. The lower interior sections finished in rich black lacquer. Each petal decorated with either a chrysanthemum or a pawlonia flower symbols of the imperial household.
The original artisan signed wooden collector box tomobako is included.
Taisho period (1912-1926).
