This is a good opportunity to collect and acquire a scarce Japanese hand cast bronze “Tea Ceremony” hand bell featuring a simple round donut shaped design and finely cast bronze bell. It comes complete with an added silk green cord . It would have been rung to alert people sitting in the garden that the tea ceremony was about to begin.
The bell contains pellets that emit a pleasant alerting sound when gently shaken.
It boasts a Fine rich and warm patina.
Dates to the 19th century and Meiji period.
