A fine large-scale Japanese Antique hand-carved Chestnut Tea Tray Habon, Taisho Period (1912-1926).
This is a hand-carved, hollowed out form from a natural piece of hard-wood in the shape of a leaf for use in Sencha Tea. This type of implement was very popular from the late 19th-early 20th centuries.
