This is an original and beautiful hand-painted and hand incised fall front desk. This unique work of art is hand-painted on front with a roundel of three vibrant and colorful birds against a mountainscape and bouquets and runners of red poppies and greenery on remainder front perimeters, the sides and back are plain.

Inside we find a fitted interior with one drawer and pigeonholes. Two simple shelves are located in lower section of desk. This hand crafted fall front desk is painted using stains and oils and incising in great detail using an arts and crafts pyrographic technique.

History of the Pyrography:
py·rog·ra·phy / noun is the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point. Pyrography was particular popular during the last quarter of the 19th century and first quarter of the 20th century. In rarer instances, the pyrography decorative technique was combined with hand painting using stains and oils and producing largely unique works of art.
