This is a beautiful 19th century three panel wood screen all hand incised and dating to the 19th century. Each panel is incised with a different romantic female motif: ” Truth, Peace, and Wisdom ” and the top of each panel boasts an original curvaceous hand fitted glass insert. In addition, each panel is embellished with prolific natural flower and vine patterns and finally the panels are linked together with strong brass hinges.

Dimensions: Center section 71.5″ high and when extended, the total screen is 62.5 inches wide

History of the Pyrography:
py·rog·ra·phy, a noun, is the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point. Pyrography was particular popular in America and Europe during the last quarter of the 19th century and first quarter of the 20th century.
