This is a very fine solid cast silver effigy of the seated Buddha This was sourced from a large Japanese collection this past year.
Signed on bottom “gin” sterling silver

The buddha practices the mudra of bodhyagri or mudra of supreme wisdom. The right forefinger is grasped in the fist of the left hand. This suggests wisdom hidden by the world of appearances. Another interpretation compares it to Tantric practices as in a sexual union of a deity and his consort.
Still a third concept refers it as the mudra of the five elements: the five elements—earth, water, air, fire, and ether—all surrounding and protecting man.
Quality: Finely cast face, hair lines, legs, and robe with a very nice original patina from good age
