A Rare First
China, a fine and large archaic “Human Effigy & Dragon” shaped patterned jade pendant ornament crafted from a medium celadon green colored jade with mottled russet light brown edge inclusions. Neolithic period, Hongshan culture (circa 3500-3000 BC) stock #14317
Quality: fine condition
Dimensions: 9.12 inches tall and 3 inches width.
Custom display stand included.
Neolithic jades from this period are handmade, hand abraided and hand polished using Primitive tools of the time: bamboo, stone, water and stone dust. Notice the considerable calcification on this example- evidence of submersion and great age. The resulting finished jade is quite thin.

Our private collection and accompanied by a written certificate that states it has been examined by Mr. Gu Fang, Senior Fellow at the Center of Jadeology and Jade Culture in Beijing (CASS). (Photo).
