These solid prolifically hand carved unifaced plaques are and fashioned from marble whose surfaces show varied weatherization from exposure and age.
Hand carved, with original aging patina , likely one of a kind
Provenance: originally found in 2007, Hubei, China.
In Asian cultures koi symbolize energetic life forces and perseverance such as swimming upstream to obtain educational achievement, success, good fortune, and prosperity. These are the only large scale marble carvings we have seen depicting this scarce subject matter.
