History of Atelier Helmut Schäffenacker:
Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker (1921-2010) was a renowned and prolific
German ceramic artist, recognized for his innovative and traditional
techniques in ceramic artistry and known as a master of plaques and sculpture. He also worked in other mediums to produce paintings, prints and public art works.
Brutalist architecture was popular 1950s to 1970s, evolving from modernist architectural movement of the early 20th century. The term originates from French word for -;raw- as Le Corbusier described his choice of material béton brut, raw concrete. British critic Reyner Banham coined the term “brutalism” (originally “New Brutalism”) to identify this as a significant emerging style.
