This is a large-scale master work ceramic plaque of a “brilliant sun burst” wonderful hand glazed modernist work of art by the highly regarded Helmut Schaffenacker German pottery kiln, mid-last century. It is signed on verso. Very good condition. Beautiful design, lovely vivid colors, good opportunity to collect as few exist today. Substantial dimensions: 18″ high and 18″ wide x 2″ thick. History:
Helmut Schaffenacker (1921 – 2010) was a renowned and prolific German ceramic artist, recognized for his innovative and traditional techniques in ceramic artistry and known as a master of plaques’. He also worked in other mediums to produce paintings, prints, sculpture and public art works.
