Japan, an antique two panel byobu screen, in a convenient displayable wall size featuring a pair of swimming ducks with multiple blue iris flowers set against a meandering blue swirling stream. It dates to the Edo or Meiji periods, 19th century.
Dimensions: 36 inches high and 39.5 inches wide as photographed.
Enticing hard to find subject matter, this painting is skillfully and tastefully rendered in muted watercolors and pigment on a paper. It is complimented by an old brocade surround and black lacquer frame. The reverse features a mounting enabling ready installation. Alternatively, the existing mounting may be removed.
