In Japan, the art of ikebana or flower arranging in special vessels is a serious and popular art form dating back 1000 years. These superb woodblock prints , taken from a scarce original book, were hand printed as double leaves on hand laid mulberry paper in a chuban size format.
Each leaf contains two superb ikebana designs with Japanese descriptions.

These fine wood block prints are immediately frame able and are presented with sharp outlines and make striking presentation. They were rescued from a rare original book and each print was folded and inserted accordion style so you may notice normal original toning, fold lines, and pin sized holes where they were attached to threads in the 19th century manner holding the entire book together.
