Rare find from our most recent Japanese acquisitions
This is a rare pair (2) of Japanese kiseru smoking pipes from the early 20th century, Taisho Era, circa 1915. These kiseru are each made of three separate bronze sections with a special central tube section decorated with gold gilt bronze floral leaves plus the makers signature stamp. They have an aged patina from a century of use.
This 100+ year old antique kiseru measures an unusually long 10.75 inches in length. They have been well used yet well loved and along with their warm aged patina, remain in functionally fine condition. The last picture shows a wood block print from the early 1800s of a geisha holding a kiseru .
You’ll love them, we guarantee it.
