Rare find from our most recent Japanese acquisitions trip.
This is a unique Japanese knob textured kiseru smoking pipe from the late 19th century, Meiji Era (c. 1890). This kiseru is made of two separate silver ends with a central section of bamboo. Both the mouth piece as well as the bowl end are made of high grade Japanese silver. It has an aged patina from over a century of use.
This 100+ year old antique kiseru measures 8 inches in length. A truly unique kiseru, it has been well used yet well loved and along with its warm aged patina remains in functionally fine condition. The last picture shows a wood block print from the early 1800’s of a geisha holding a kiseru frequently used during the Gion Geisha days similar to this one.
You’ll love it, we guarantee it.
