A fine old Japanese 19th century hand-carved wooden KOI fish symbolic of prosperity, perseverance and good fortune. Custom black wood display base is included.
Originally a crossbar for a hanging pot hook ensemble, these were often displayed in Japanese main living rooms for suspending cooking pots and kettles over a charcoal fire. Today these antique works of art serve as wonderful decorative sculptures as ours.
