A Genuine Whopper.
A fine large scale old Japanese 19th century gold gilt caste bronze KOI fish sculpture symbolic of prosperity, perseverance and good fortune. Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912).
The fine bronze features a partially gold gilded splash over a red brown original patina. It is naturally heavy with excellent head, eyes, scales, and fin details.
