Japanese fine old hand carved large scale wooden carving of daikoku in cryptomeria (cedar) wood and in large scale, 15 inches in height.
Daikokuten (大黒天) is a Japanese deity of fortune and wealth. He is also a positive force in a household, and in agriculture, fertility, sexuality and war.
Quality: hand carved with rich and deep realistic head, ears, back sack, hands with a fine and old original dark brown patina from good age.
It has been crafted in the Japanese old school craftsmen style- the “Ittobori “style (carved from one wooden piece)
