Japan, an attractive hand caste bronze vase in a mimikuchi (ear mouth) “flying handles” form, early Showa period.
Dimensions: 11 inches tall and 7 inches diameter handle to handle
The bronze vase likely was patterned after ancient Chinese Han amphora. This vase features Mimikuchi circular top issuing scrolled flying handles with the quartered pear shaped-body with spirals, on a flared base. A very organic form that makes lovely flower display.
