Here’s one of the most beautiful and useful Chinese antiques we have ever found in our travels in China over the past three decades.
This is a matched set of one table with pedestal plus four stools- six (6) pieces in all, carved from solid limestone and they date to the mid last century, mid Republican period. Total six (6) pieces.
Dimensions: Table: 40 inches diameter and 28 inches high and 2 inches thick Four Matching Stools: 16.5 inches high and 12 inches diameter.
Quality: The carving and detail is deep and Fine. Depicted on the 40 inch diameter table top edge are dragons chasing the wish granting jewel- auspicious symbols- and the four matching limestone stools feature fantastic animal designs of deer, birds, foo dogs and flowers.
The table top has an aged patina from appropriate many decades of use. A Hardy very functional weatherproof set ready for the decades ahead in any climate.
Provenance: originally found in Hubei Province and has been part of family collection since its acquisition.
