History of Tamba Pottery:
Tamba pottery is one of the six ancient potteries in Japan, and it was first started back in the late Heian period and early Kamakura period (1180-1230). During its long history, Tamba pottery’s pursuit for usefulness has made this traditional artwork simple, yet elegant. Tamba Tachikui Kiln is currently designated as a National Intangible Cultural Asset. It was produced in Sasayama and Tachikui in Hyōgo Prefecture.
Wabi-sabi (侘寂?) is a concept in traditional Japanese aesthetics constituting a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".[2] It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence specifically impermanence, suffering and emptiness or absence of self-nature.
