A fine pair of Japanese hand-cast bronze ducks with highly detailed plumage, heads, tails, webbed feet, and wings.
Attractive brown patina from appropriate age.
Taisho period, early 20th century.
These sculptures are in remarkably fine condition just the way we like to discover them. Today these older works of art still serve as wonderful indoor or outdoor garden sculpture, beautifully conceived decorative accents only the Japanese artisans can create.

History of Mandarin Duck:
The mandarin duck (Aix galericulata) is a perching duck species found in East Asia. It is closely related to the North American wood duck, the only other member of the genus Aix.
