A one-of-a-kind rare Samurai horse accessory discovered from our recent Japanese acquisitions.
This round donut shaped cast bronze bell was proudly displayed on Samurai horses in the 19th century. It comes complete with an added blue silk cord. Several of these might adorn a Samurai’s proudest possession, his horse.
The bell contains pellets that emit a pleasant alerting sound when gently shaken.
It boasts a fine rich and warm patina and dates to the later 19th century, Meiji period.
