History of this Jizo:

Jizo Bosatsu is one of the most beloved of all Japanese divinities, Jizo¯ works to ease the suffering and to answer the prayers of the living for health, success, children, and all manner of mundane petitions. In modern Japan, Jizo¯ is a savior par excellence, a friend to all. He is notably a protector of travelers and children.

Our’s is deeply sculpted from a gray stone and dates to the late-Edo period, circa 1800 with very minor old loss. An excellent garden or indoor sculptural choice with a genuine spiritual aura.
