A very old circa 18th century Japanese stone Jizo Bosatsu in unusual double Jizo Desojin form stands tall in a fine Minimalist state having endured mild natural weathering from great age.
It is sculpted from a hard gray granite stone and dates to the late-Edo period, circa 1750-1800 with very minor old loss. An excellent garden or indoor sculptural choice with a genuine spiritual aura.
Hand made, hand carved. Only one.
Dimensions: 18 inches tall. and 10 inches wide.
History of Jizo:
Jizo Bosatsu is one of the most beloved of all Japanese divinities, Jizō works to ease the suffering and to answer the prayers of the living for health, success, children, and all manner of mundane petitions. In modern Japan, Jizō is a savior par excellence, a friend to all. He is notably a protector of travelers and children.
