Japanese Antique Stunning Hand Painted Green and Gold Gardens, Pagodas Temples, And Lanterns Six Panel Screen, Byobu
Fashioned by hand in stunning original brilliant colors and gold leaf. It is signed right and with red seal, Ranmokusai (蘭木斎).
Japan, a fine six-panel screen byobu carefully crafted by a professional artisan with vibrant colors and hand applied gold leaf. This attractive screen dates to the late Edo period/ early Meiji period, circa 1870. The rich dark black lacquer frame and bronze mounts perfectly compliment this handsome and artistic work of art.
Features include a brilliant panorama of gardens and green hills; pagodas and temples, red torii gates, stone kasuga lanterns, Nios, temples, blossoming plum and matsu pine trees, Buddhist attendants and more.
We are pleased to have found this one coming from an old Kyoto area collection.

Dark black lacquered wood with finely engraved bronze corner mounts beautifully frame this serene and striking composition. The old blue backing paper is present. Please look at the photographs closely that reveal all of these fine details.
