Seldom seen. Lovely sound. 19th century.
This is an extraordinary opportunity to collect and acquire a scarce Japanese hand cast bronze “Tea Ceremony” hand bell featuring unique bronze prongs and arabesque designs and calligraphy front and back. It is complete with an original bronze loop with and hand cord. The cord handle comfortably accommodates ones hand and the whole sits on three feet for attractive display. The bell contains pellets that emit a pleasant alerting sound when gently shaken.
It boasts an original rich and warm colored dark patina appropriate to its good age.
Dates to the 19th century.
