Flying Cranes Family
Glistening blue glazed ceramic form planter or bowl, formerly a hibachi from old Japan dating 1930-1940.
Twenty seven flying cranes are depicted in under glaze cream and blue colors in this seldom scene composition ceramic planter.
In Japan, the crane, or tsuru, is a national treasure and is considered the bird of happiness. It is depicted in art, literature, and mythology as a symbol of good luck and longevity because it is said to live 1,000 years.
