A monumental and rare early american hand carved granite stone fire starter figural effigy discovered decades ago and coming from a southern collection. It dates to at least the 19th century.
It possesses a fine old patina from appropriate great age. We have not seen another like this although human spirit form stone sculptures in various sizes and forms are known in museums and private collections and were carved by early native cultures.
