In Japan, Kṣitigarbha, known as Jizō, or respectfully as Ojizō-sama, is one of the most loved of all Japanese divinities. His statues are a common sight, especially by roadsides and installed in private shrines.

This handsome hand carved example is sculpted from solid dark to medium granite stone, still retains much of its fine details and and dates to the early to mid 20th century.

Its a good garden candidate with an authentic and sublime spiritual aura.
