Category: SFA Blog
We wish to acknowledge support and thank all for attending and supporting our second annual fund raising luncheon to benefit Japan’s tsunami and earthquake survivors. Held August 10, 2011 at the Asticou Inn, nearly thirty people attended the luncheon to hear Asian landscape and garden extraordinaire Dennis Bracale discuss Japan and China’s cultural ties that influenced garden design in Japan and America. According to Douglas Schneible:
“through Dennis’ enlightened talk, valued assistance by Mount Desert Land and Garden Preserve’s Executive Director Carole Plenty, and attendees generous support- they helped to raise $1000 to benefit tens of thousands of survivors in Japan- many who are still without permanent homes.”
