Japanese antique pair of a fine Samurai bow accompanied by a rack of ten feathered arrows. The bow with fine lacquered details in original vibrant red and black colors and the arrows with original feathers from Meiji period, 19th century.

Patina and mild use appropriate to their age and historical importance.

Condition: Fine original condition with minor wear due to appropriate age

Dimensions: Bow is 20.5 inches long

Provenance: old Japanese samurai collection found in Northern Japan

History:
Antique Japanese bows are regarded as talismans against evil and were for centuries used by samurai warriors as their primary weapon of choice. Smaller length bow examples like this were used to train boys in preparation for eventual war time call of duty. See photo of a samurai warrior.
