Buddhist Protector of families and travelers – good garden candidate

A large beautiful and uncommon style Japanese seated Buddha or Buddhist stone Jizo Bosatsu who is seated and clutches in his hands mala beads and a dorge which in Lamaism is a small trident symbolizing power. This handsome hand carved example is sculpted from solid dark to medium gray stone, still retains much of its old original paint and and dates to the early to mid 20th century.

Good garden candidate with an authentic even patina and sublime spiritual aura.

Fine condition with overall softening of the lines and contours.
Handsomely weathered from appropriate age.
