Japan, an attractive and sturdy lantern, with a seldom seen double winged “Dragonfly” motif on all four sides of the fire box.
The original dark patina is indicative of its age- and is just the way we like to find them. In Japanese Culture Dragonfly (Tombo) is known as the “victory insect”, or kachimushi, because of its hunting prowess and also because it is known to never retreat.

This intriguing lantern is accompanied by two whimsical “monkey” hooks that serve as potential suspension mounts. Total three pieces.
