A thick book depicting superb original woodblock prints of more than a dozen beautifully illustrated acupuncture depictions. Woodblock prints are immediately frameable.
One thread bound album containing fine 9.5 inch x 12 inch wood block prints covering all manner of acupuncture with details of jo, chi, and ge.
Complete with original signed album cover just the way we like to find them.
Fine condition.
You can literally marvel for hours enjoying thumbing through this rare album and 250 plus year old prints included. They are printed on washi paper and traditionally thread hand-sewn. The connected accordion style pages are beautifully presented in an original handmade and hand bound album format. The prints are easily removable.
Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called “moxa” are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences.
Quality: All fine woodblock prints were printed from washi paper of that day and are in good condition with sharp impressions. Some prints have light foxing from great age.
