From our recent trip to Japan comes this rarely found antique set of two (2) black and gold mist lacquer sushi or sushimi serving plates in the form of boats. Each serving boat vessel consists of three pieces, the boat and two mini trays. All are beautifully hand made and hand lacquered with fine black and gold details as seen on the side and inside of each.

These were two of twenty such works of art found stored away in Kanazawa for decades having been originally used by a fine restaurant in that area long ago. More are available on request. Please enjoy the photograph of the original signed tomobako wooden box containing all 24 boats!.

Dimensions: each boat is 12.5 inches in length and 4.5 inches side.

These date to the later Meiji period, circa 1900.
