Such items have been used in ancient and modern cultures and are generally made in order to gain favor with supernatural forces. They might be used year after year and passed from one generation to the next. Sometimes they are painted before the start of the worship period. Notice the sharp nose, lotus petal shaped eyes, eyebrows, shaping of the Gauri eyes and, small mouth . Today these bronzes have often been replaced by synthetic material and might be disposed of after the period of worship.
Rare survivors. Patina from appropriate age.
