Japan, a hard to find heavily hand cast hand painted frog or toad -kaeru- sculpture weighing almost 5 pounds, circa 1930.
It still retains its remarkable original paint colors in greens, cream, red, and black.
This handsome full throated critter with bumps and all retains a pleasing original and old patina appropriate to its considerable age- just the way we like to find them.
Heavy hand cast.
