A fine cast gold fish “kingyo” cast in a graceful animated form, complete with exaggerated bulging eyes, detailed scales, and long six section graceful tail. Handsome Japanese casting is created in a Chinese exotic fish style.
Unusual example rarely found, this is the first we have seen.
Notice the chocolate brown patina.
Dimensions: 4 inches high to top of suspension loop and 6 inches in length

Fish are homophones for another word that means affection and love; they are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan. The koi and gold fish have a powerful and energetic life force and symbolize prosperity and success including several lessons individuals often encounter in life and demonstrated by its ability to swim against currents and even travel upstream.
