A total of 14 silk paintings are included, each masterfully hand painted on silk. The connected accordion style pages are beautifully presented in an attractive and colorful handmade and hand printed silk bound album.

History of Japanese Shunga Art:

Shunga is a Japanese term for erotic art. Most Shunga are a type of ukiyo-e, usually executed in woodblock print format. Paintings on silk, unique works of art, are rarest of all. Shunga art is seldom signed. There are also extant erotic painted hand scrolls which predate the Ukiyo-e movement. Translated literally, the Japanese word Shunga means picture of spring and is a common euphemism for sex. (thank you wikipedia)
